This so reminds of Prison Break.
“Some eight months after their initial attempt to rob a pawnshop in Quezon City by digging a tunnel was thwarted, a group of robbers went back to the establishment and completed the job,” reports Jeannette Andrade of Philippine Daily Inquirer.
On Wednesday morning, police received a report from Capital Pawnshop that they lost nearly P700,000 worth of cash and jewelry.
Using the same hole dug in March this year, robbers entered the shop and ransacked its cash and jewelry. The tunnel had been filled up after the shop’s management noticed irregular changes in its flooring. That foiled the robbers’ initial attempt.
Investigators said the burglary could have been thwarted again had the shop’s security took a tip from a neighbor seriously. The neighbor apparently told security that he heard rustling noises beneath the ground, sounding like metal hitting stone. The information was not relayed to authorities.
