Why do these buses suddenly go up in flames?

“On Wednesday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said a burning Manrose bus with plate number UVB-618 was spotted by its Metrobase through closed circuit television cameras at 4:45 p.m,” reports Mike Frialde on Philstar.com.

The bus had been going through EDSA’s northbound lane, approaching Buendia. The bus eventually stopped on the Ayala flyover.

The report noted: “The Metrobase said a team from the MMDA’s Road Emergency Group was deployed at the scene. Cars following the burning bus stopped as they waited for firefighters to arrive.”

No one was reported hurt in the fire. The MMDA said that as of 5:55pm, the burned bus had been cleared from the scene.

The cause of the bus fire was not yet revealed.
