When Senator Jinggoy Estrada was interviewed after the Feb 13 Senate hearing where whistleblower Ruby Tuason had appeared, he had criticized Sen. TG Guingona for taking Tuason’s testimony at “face value.”
It may be recalled that Guingona likened the testimony of Tuason into a “three-point shot that wasn’t only a buzzer-beater but also a winning shot.”
“Estrada also said he considers Guingona’s handling of the investigation on the alleged PHP10-billion pork barrel fund scam as a ‘self-offensive foul’ and his stance on the pork barrel scam issue may be part of his preparation for the 2016 elections,” reports GMA News correspondent Karen Galarpe on GMA News Online.
According to the report, Guingona merely shrugged off Estrada’s remarks. (I’m just doing my job as chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon committee. And the job of this committee is to investigate. What do they want? That the Senate just keep quiet? That I keep quiet? That I shut my mouth? Close my eyes and pretend nothing is happening? Is that what they want?).”
