It’s a pity that they didn’t name her in the report because we’d like to name an award after her. (We’re being sarcastic, in case you’re wondering. Plus, she’s 18 so it’s not like we’re talking about a minor here.)

“On Thursday, Feb 12, an 18-year-old girl hailed a taxi driven by Elemar Halog in front of the Pasay City Hall at around 1:45pm. She asked Halog to drop her off at Edsa Crossing in Mandaluyong City,” reports Jovic Yee in Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The report noted: “Upon reaching Pasig Boulevard, however, the suspect, who was seated behind Halog, declared the heist while poking the victim’s side with an 11-inch improvised knife.”

After she took PHP550 from the driver, the teenage girl told Halog to turn back and drop her off at the place where the driver picked her up. The girl got impatient when they got stalled in heavy traffic, so she chose to get out of the cab.

The report indicated: “That proved to be a mistake as the exact spot where she alighted was close to a police station. The cab driver immediately sought police help and responding policemen nabbed the suspect.”

The girl is currently detained at the Pasig Police station and will be charged for robbery, which has a minimum jail term of six years.
