Teen attempts to steal school’s power cables, shot dead by security guard

Sometimes we can’t believe just how young criminals could be.

“Fourteen-year-old Melvin Dulo, died after being shot by Rodrigo Vinson Jr., who caught him stealing electric cables at the compound of Flos Carmeli School on Wednesday, Mar 19,” reports Reinir Padua in Philippine Star.

Vinson immediately surrendered to the police after the incident.

Another school security guard, Enrique Sibonga, revealed to the police he heard a gunshot from the school’s garbage room. So, he ran there and found Vinson holding his gun.

Vinson later told police that the boy attempted to stab him. That was why he drew his gun and fired.

Police noted a stab wound in his right arm. They also found the bread knife that Dulo used at the crime scene.

But Dulo’s relatives say the boy couldn’t have stolen from the school. They claimed he had served as an errand boy of Vinson.
