People, let’s not lose focus here.
Last night’s presidential debate was full of fireworks with heated exchanges from the four presidentiables. Teddy Boy Locsin unexpectedly got his share of the social media spotlight because of his commentary about the “inappropriate” use of Tagalog in the debates.
His first Tweet was about how Mar Roxas and Grace Poe used too much Tagalog. In his succeeding Tweet, he argued that “Tagalog sounds manly only when clipped and short like English.”
The outspoken journalist in now receiving negative comments on various social media networks, with netizens even arguing that he was being anti-Filipino.
Keep in mind that the Presidential debates are meant to help us pick the most qualified candidate for the top position in the land. We should focus on the debate, and not what people said on the sidelines.

The third round of te presidential debates is scheduled on April 24. A debate for the vice-presidentiables will happen on April 10.
