Teachers demand pay hike, threaten to strike on June 2

If there’s a group that deserves better pay, it’s them.

“On Saturday, May 10, a group of teachers stormed Gate 7 of Malacañang Palace to air their protests against their low salaries,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

Police were surprised by the group. They asked them to hold their protest elsewhere.

The teachers are asking the government to “increase their salaries by PHP10,000 a month.” They then added that “if their grievances are not acted upon, teachers from all over the National Capital Region will conduct a mass leave on the first day of classes on June 2.”
