Students became witnesses to a harrowing incident when their teacher was stabbed and killed in their school in Iligan City.
The teacher identified as Sheryll Doloquin was allegedly stabbed by her ex-boyfriend Albert Bansalaw right in front of her students at around 2pm on Thursday, GMA News’ Unang Balita reported.
The students, who reportedly cried, shouted, and ran when the incident happened said that they haven’t been able to sleep since. They said they can’t stop remembering what happened.
“The principal called me saying that my daughter was stabbed by her ex-boyfriend. But as far as I know, she broke up with him a long time ago but the man did not want to,” Lydia Doloquin, the victim’s mother said.
The police’s initial investigation revealed that the teacher had broken up with the man after finding out that he was already married, the same GMA News report states.
Doloquin was brought to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Bansalaw, the suspect fled the scene riding a motorcycle; authorities are currently searching for him. He will be charged for murder.
A similar incident happened in Bocaue, Bulacan in November. It involved a teacher who was shot dead by her former live-in partner, a soldier, in front of her students.
