Kids should be told that nobody can touch them in ways that make them uncomfortable.
“A 30-year-old teacher named Lester de Guzman is now in jail for allegedly raping a 10-year-old boy inside his house in Quezon City last Sunday, March 22,” report Francis T. Wakefield and Betheena Kae Unite in Tempo.
According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Police Station 2 (PS-2) said that De Guzman — a teacher at Project 6 Elementary School and a resident of Project 6, Quezon City — had invited three young boys to his home at around 7pm.
The report noted: “The victim (name withheld for being a minor) was playing with two of his friends outside their house in Project 6 when the victims arrived and invited them to his house. One of the invited children was actually De Guzman’s student at Project 6 Elementary School.”
Accordig to the victim, once they were inside De Guzman’s house, he was asked to undress by the teacher. Once his clothes were off, De Guzman allegedly proceeded to molest him in front of his two friends.
Upon returning home, the victim immediately revealed his ordeal to his mother. His mother, of course, immediately sought the assistance of barangay officials, who went with her to the police station where she filed a complaint.
A case of rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or child abuse has been filed against De Guzman.
