Take down your tarpaulins before “super typhoon” Yolanda, huffs, puffs and blows it down.
MMDA chair Francis Tolentino is appealing to billboard operators to pull down ads across the capital in preparation for “super typhoon” Yolanda.
The official tells Pilipino Star Ngayon that rescue units of the agency are on high alert as Metro Manila braces for “super typhoon” Yolanda. The biggest weather disturbance of 2013 worldwide made landfall earlier Friday in Samar.
Tolentino said MMDA rescuers were paying attention to flood prone areas in Metro Manila as these are the first ones to go down during heavy rains. He added that the agency is in close contact with local government units and the disaster office to monitor the situation.
Meanwhile, classes in most Metro Manila have been suspended. The capital was placed under public storm warning Signal No. 2.
