Taguig adds 97 new cops

Taguig City has added more cops, but that doesn’t mean they have enough.

“The Taguig City government recetnly added of 97 new police officers to the city’s police force,” reports Mike Frialde on Philstar.com.

Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano said the new police officers would be immediately deployed to the 28 barangays of the city.

The report noted: “Meanwhile, Taguig City Police chief, Senior Superintendent Arthur Felix Asis said the additional policemen would help address the low police-population ratio in the city which now stands at 1:2,700.”

That’s still a lot to make up for since the ideal ratio is one police officer to 500 residents.
