The suspects behind the gruesome killing of transgender woman Jessa Remiendo have surrendered, police announced today.
Isagani Dollaga and Michael Orpano surrendered to the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office in Lingayen town yesterday at 4pm, reported The Philippine Daily Inquirer. The men were then brought to the Bolinao police station in Pangasinan, where they remain detained as of writing.
The police said they believe Dollaga to be a former boyfriend of the victim, whose body was discovered with multiple stab wounds last week, while Orpano is a friend of Dollaga’s, according ABS-CBN News.

The two men were identified as suspects by the police based on the testimony of an unidentified witness. They also allegedly sent text messages to Remiendo linking them to the crime, police told news television show Unang Balita.
Remiendo had been having a drink with colleagues and her sister on the night of Monday, Sept. 16, before leaving to buy cigarettes. She never returned, and was found dead on the shore of Patar in Bolinao the next day.
Dollaga and Orpano will both be charged with murder.
