In the early hours of Tue, Sep 13, various media teams converged along Aldecoa Street in Malate, Manila, they had gotten word that police had engaged in a shoot-out in the area.
Cops had already cordoned off the crime scene when the media arrived. Two men had fallen on the said spot. Cops said they were suspects who had fought back during a buy-bust operation.
However, after a few seconds, the media saw that one of the suspects was moving. The man eventually raised both his arms as he got up to surrender.
The man, who was identified only as “JayR,” said that he and his companion were shot by gunmen on a motorcycle. This did not coincide with what the cops on the scene had claimed.
That’s why Manila Police District (MPD) Director Senior Supt. Joel Coronel has ordered a probe on the incident.
According to TV Patrol, JayR was taken to the Ospital ng Maynila for treatment. He will face various charges, among them a drug-related charge.
