Supreme Court issues TRO vs. Meralco’s power rate hike

Should we consider this our Christmas gift for being such good children?

“On Monday, Dec 23, the Supreme Court has temporarily stopped the Manila Electric Company (Meralco)’s PHP4.15 power rate hike,” reports ANC.

The temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by the SC means that the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and Meralco can’t implement the power rate increase for 60 days.

Oral arguments have been slated for January 21.

Thanks Santa!
