Supreme Court grants two-week calamity leave to judges, personnel in typhoon-hit areas

Compassion is always welcome.

“Supreme Court (SC) spokesman Atty. Theodore Te recently announced that the High Court has given judges and court personnel in areas devastated by Super Typhoon Yolanda a two-week calamity leave, from Nov 11 to Nov 25,” reports Edu Punay in The Philippine Star.

The SC has also approved the advanced release of their salaries until Nov 30.

According to the report, “the office order—which covers judges and court personnel in Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Western Samar, Leyte, Cebu, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, and Palawan—was signed by Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno upon the recommendation of Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez.”
