Hairstylists beware! A 50-year-old hairstylist from Malabon City was arrested and jailed for child abuse after she convinced a 13-year-old teenager to get a mohawk.
Rose Satander of Barangay Tugatog, Malabon is probably the first stylist to get arrested for displeasing a client. It just so happened that the girl’s father was a known lawyer in the area. The parents claimed that the hairstyle was not decent and that their daughter might not be allowed to go back to school because such a hairstyle is not allowed in the Catholic school that she goes to.
The Philippine Star reported that the parents eventually forgave the hairstylist and had her released from prison. The only requirement was that she restore the girl’s “schoolgirl” look.
