Student falls from condo’s 24th floor, police eye suicide angle

Sudden deaths cause so much confusion to those who are left behind.

“On Saturday evening, Dec 7, 20-year-old student Jethro Pechon Leonardo allegedly fell from the 24th floor of the Grand Tower II building in Taft Avenue, Malate into a kiddie pool at the seventh floor,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com. Security guard Raymond Aliado said he heard a loud splash and then saw Leonardo’s body floating in the children’s pool.

According to the report, Leonardo’s roommate, who was identified only as “Dominic,” said that there was no indication that he was suicidal. In fact, he was even described as “masayahin (cheerful).”

However, as the report went on to reveal, “police said there is a possibility that Leonardo jumped deliberately after discovering private messages between the victim and his girlfriend on his laptop.” In the said exchanges, Leonardo allegedly told his girlfriend that his head hurt and that he had not gone to school for weeks because of it.
