Will Stephan Shrock return to the field as an Azkal?

“The possibility surfaced recently after the Filipino-German midfielder confirmed he has patched things up with Azkals coach Thomas Dooley following their falling out last year in the aftermath of the AFC Challenge Cup finals loss to Palestine,” reports Cedelf P. Tupas on Inquirer.net.

Then, Shrock said he won’t be playing for the Azkals as long as the German-American coach is there, a knee-jerk reaction to Doodley’s decision to limit Shrock’s playing time in the crucial stages of the AFC Challenge Cup in Maldives last year. Shrock had a hamstring injury.

Shrock was quoted in the report as saying: “I texted coach to let him know I was sorry. I’m a player who wants to win. My intention was right but the manner that I did it was not. He accepted it and that’s it.”

Azkals team manager Dan Palami remains upbeat that Shrock will be able to return and play.

The Philippine Football Federation is getting ready for a friendly game against Palestine in March. It will be in Bahrain.
