“The Social Security System (SSS) will set up a help desk at Valenzuela City Hall on Wednesday, May 20, to assist survivors and the families of those who died in last week’s Kentex Manufacturing Corp. factory blaze,” reports InterAksyon.com.
The report noted: “The help desk will be set up at the city hall’s audio-visual room and will be open from 8am to 5pm.”
The beneficiaries should bring pertinent documents such as pay-slips, employment contracts and valid IDs to file their SSS claims. Injured employees should present their medical certificates.
The report added that “the families of the fatalities can claim funeral benefits of PHP20,000 and death benefits, either a lump sum or monthly pension.” They can likewise claim funeral benefits under the Employees’ Compensation Program.
