After a disappointing loss via submission to Mark Streigl during his first crack at the 155-pound Lightweight division, current featherweight beltholder Harris Sarmiento wants to return to the octagon with lively fireworks – a surefire slugfest.
And he’ll be getting his wish as challenger Isaiah Ordiz wants exactly the same.
“I hate to bring up last November but the fight ended how it did,” PXC chief executive officer EJ Calvo told Spin.ph. “Harris, obviously frustrated, approached my family and was adamant saying, ‘I want to stand and bang with somebody.’”
After talking with his partners just after PXC 34 finished, Calvo willingly decided to give in to Sarmiento’s demand, choosing the slugger Isaiah Ordiz, who battled and overcame Tristan Arenal with a split decision during the same event.
The heavy-experienced MMA Filipino-American champion, who’s currently holding a 35-24 win-loss record, is eager to notch his 36th win as he celebrates his 60th professional bout, this time against the Laguna-bred challenger who was impressive during his two winning fights.
PXC 35 is slated to open and start their undercard bouts around 7 p.m., it’ll feature exciting matches with ex-massage therapists –turned MMA figher Alvin Cacdac battling undefeated Hawaiian Louis “Da Last Samurai” Smolka and Team Lakay’s pride Troy Bantiag against Tony Reyes of Guam.
