Speeding jeepney hit by PNR train

On Tue night, Jan 12, six people were injured when a Philippine National Railways (PNR) train struck a speeding passenger jeepney along Pedro Gil Street in Manila.

“An eyewitness said the jeepney driver tried to beat a railroad crossing barrier that was going down even if it was easy to see that there was an oncoming train,” reports ABS-CBN News.

The report noted: “The collision damaged the jeepney’s windshield, rear, and side. The railroad crossing barrier was also destroyed.”

The injured jeepney passengers were brought to Sta. Ana Hospital. One woman was said to be in critical condition.
