Are we seeing double here?

Twitter-verse is in stitches upon discovering a Filipino man who bears an uncanny resemblance with Space X founder Elon Musk.

It was Panlasang Pinay (@thysz) who first posted the TikTok video of Bong Villanueva, who is seen walking through rows of plants in a Palawan resort and encouraging his followers to swim with him.

“Elon Musk enjoys El Nido,” tweeted @thysz.

“Wait, I can’t take this! Mamshie Elon, thank you for choosing the Philippines!” she wrote in a follow-up post.

As of today, the video has been liked almost 22,000 times and has had almost 3,000 retweets.

Coconuts Manila tracked down Villanueva, who has never heard of the Tesla founder’s name until we told him. The 46-year-old Puerto Princesa native, an entrepreneur and makeup artist, said he was “flattered” with being called Musk’s look-alike.

“[TikTok] is my stress reliever,” he said in English and Filipino. “I took that video in Angkla Resort because we had a show there for Miss Palawan. We were releasing baby turtles in El Nido.”

The activity was the beauty pageant’s way of promoting its advocacy, “the conservation of marine life.” The event was attended by several celebrities.

“[They] thought of releasing baby turtles because El Nido is a turtle sanctuary,” he added.

Meanwhile, on Twitter, people are posting their reactions to Villanueva’s video, and everyone is amused. “Fuck, sister, I really thought it was Elon Musk!” wrote @yansibree.

A certain @katveatemptor told Panlasang Pinay that Villanueva owns a chain of salons and bars in Puerto Princesa. (He does, although he prefers to call the bars “restaurants”).

Someone actually tagged Musk in the comments and said, “I did not know you’re fluent in Tagalog.”
