Kids are always told not to go near strangers — but what happens when it’s their own family members who do them harm?
On Mon, Oct 18, a laborer who was allegedly caught raping his eight-year old cousin was arrested by local officials in Barangay Carpenter Hill in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
In an ABS-CBN News report, Superintendent Barney Condes revealed, “Accordingly, nahawaan pa daw ng sexually transmitted disease (STD) yung bata. So, nakakaawa yung biktima kaya sinampa talaga namin agad ang kasong rape.”
(“Investigations show he also infected the child with an STD. We feel really bad for the victim so we immediately filed a rape case.”)
The report noted: “The parents of the little girl allegedly saw the suspect inside the girl’s room. The suspect initially denied that he raped his cousin, but admitted that he was drunk when he entered the room and touched the girl’s sensitive parts.”
A medical exam has proven that the child was raped.
