Sorry, no: Gibo declines Duterte’s Defense post offer again

Nope, not happening.

Despite a repeat offer from the president himself, Gilbert Teodoro has declined to head the country’s Defense department.

The former Defense secretary of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo did offer an explanation, but Rodrigo Duterte, talking to Philippine Daily Inquirer, surmised that perhaps Teodoro was “disenchanted.”

Duterte’s original plan was to transfer his current Defense secretary, Delfin Lorenzana, to Washington as the country’s ambassador

That’s not pushing through either.

According to the president, Lorenzana told him that he didn’t want to return to America, where he had served as special presidential representative for veteran affairs in Washington, now that he’s back in the Philippines.

So what’s happening now?

If they don’t want it, let’s just look for other candidates, said Duterte.
