Sorry, August 22 isn’t a holiday

Honestly, a long weekend would have given the nation a morale boost.

“Malacañang ended hopes of the public for August 22 to be declared a holiday,” reports Philstar.com.

Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma stated that the date, which falls on a Friday, will be a regular working day.

The report noted: “Declaring August 22 a holiday would mean a long weekend this week. August 21 (Ninoy Aquino Day) is a special non-working holiday while August 25 or Monday is the National Heroes Day, a regular holiday.”
