The SONA 2015 speech was all of two hours and 15 minutes long. It was so long, it felt like we were back in history class.
But including his Ate Yolly in that beautiful part of his speech where he thanked his team made it worth our while. “Yolly, minabuti kong personal na mapanood mo ang SONAng ito para masabi ko sa iyo: Maraming salamat sa pakikiambag mo,” the President said.
Yolly is Yolly Yebes, the President’s loyal governess — or as PNoy puts it, “ang namamahala sa aking tahanan”. She cooks for him, takes care of his house, generally takes care of the President, which is why we think that was very gracious of PNoy to include her in his gratitude list.
Who knows, there may be a hidden agenda there somewhere, but we think that was just a truly, truly class act.
