President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s last State of the Nation Address will be truthful and optimistic, a Palace official said.

Sec. Sonny Coloma, head of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, said Aquino will only present the truth.

“The President has always been truthful in his SONA. Lahat ng sinasabi niya ay pawang katotohanan (Everything he says is the truth),” said Coloma.

Though he has not seen Aquino’s final speech or any draft, Coloma said that the President started preparing the SONA as early as a month ago.

He added that Aquino has met with his speechwriters and has gotten updates from various cabinet clusters.

He also dismissed failing marks given by various sectors for the Aquino administration’s past five years in office.

Coloma said the country is on a “high-trajectory growth path” thanks to the administration’s anti-corruption efforts and improvement in social services.

“At the end of it, he is one who would want to convey hope… Importante kasi ‘yun, yung pagkatapos nila s’ya marinig syempre dapat naman yung upbeat sila at merong tinitignan sa kinabukasan na mas maganda It’s important that after listening to him, people feel upbeat about the future),” Coloma said.
