At about 6:30am, MRT had to suspend train service from the North Avenue Station to Ortigas Station because a southbound train stopped between GMA-Kamuning and Cubao.
“Reports said the train stopped after its brakes malfunctioned and unexpectedly engaged,” reads an Inquirer.net report.
Operations only resumed a little past 8am, when the malfunctioning train was removed from the tracks.
According to the report, at least two lanes of EDSA were occupied by disappointed MRT passengers who were hoping they’d catch a Makati-bound bus, which of course, only aggravated the already-bad traffic situation.
