Some Overseas Filipino Workers are dropping the “Overseas” and coming back to work here, Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said.
She said some firms based here are now offering higher salaries than abroad.
“The Philippines is also seeing for the first time a return migration of our workers from Macau being absorbed by the emerging entertainment and gaming industry in our country,” the Labor secretary said in a Philippine Star report.
She said the government is working towards easing the country’s dependence on remittances and towards making working abroad an option, not a necessity.
