Fake Lacoste shirts, fake LV bags, fake Crocs sandals. Now comes a fake soldier. Are we turning into a nation of fakes?
“A project sales consultant who posed as a soldier was arrested after he was caught by a real soldier for trying to sneak out relief goods Wednesday afternoon at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City,” reports Edd Reyes of People’s Journal.
Military police at Villamor Air Base arrested Dexter Basillio, who was caught inside a massage booth trying to sneak away P1,000 worth of relief goods. He even wore a soldier’s uniform to conceal his identity.
A social worker told investigators the suspect asked for help to carry the relief bags which he would give to evacuees he was looking after. Good thing the social worker thought twice about the man’s request and sought assistance from military police.
The suspect was arrested and turned over to the Pasay police, which will file appropriate charges against the man.
