Soldier dies due to armory fire injuries

Perhaps, his death would pave the way for strict safety measures.

“Cpl. Bernabe Mota, 30, one of the soldiers wounded in the explosion triggered by a fire at the Philippine Army Explosive and Ordnance Disposal (EOD) in Fort Bonifacio died at around 10am on Friday, May 9,” reports Elena L. Aben in Manila Bulletin.

Mota had been confined at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center (AFPMC) in V. Luna, Quezon City. He had sustained burns on 65% of his body. He was supposed to be transferred to the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) Burn Unit.

The report said “five more soldiers remain confined at the AFPMC.”
