The newly-opened Solaire Resort and Casino had some teething problems Saturday. A portion of the ceiling leaked and for close to 20 minutes, and soaked several slot machines.
According to reports, after the leak occurred, the toilets in the area also malfunctioned. According to Solaire spokesman Joy Wassmer, a pipe burst and that the engineering department was working on the problem. Solaire was opened last March 16 at the Entertainment City, a 120-hectare property on the Manila Bay reclamation area and owned by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. The casino and resort is managed by Global Gaming Asset Management, a U.S.-based company, for Bloomberry Resorts Corp.
