The demure and forever-gracious socialite and philanthropist Imelda Ongsiako Cojuango passed away on Mon morning, May 9, “after being rushed to a hospital due to breathing discomfort,” according to Manila Bulletin.
“Meldy” was the wife of the late businessman Ramon U. Cojuangco and is the mother of former PLDT honcho Antonio ‘Tonyboy’ Cojuangco. She is also survived by Miguel ‘Mikey’ Cojuangco, Trinidad ‘NingNing’ Cojuangco-Yulo, Maria Victoria ‘Mavie’ Cojuangco-Yulo, and 15 grandchildren.
The late socialte “had always been involved and active in philanthropic activities since her debutante years during the time of the Quirino administration.” She was tagged as a close friend of former First Lady Imelda Marcos.
