So what do you think of Korina Sanchez’s Instagram post?

Uh, sweet?

Earlier Friday, broadcast journalist and Mrs. Mar Roxas posted on her Instagram account a photo of bears hugging and orangutans kissing with her and her husband’s name scribbled beneath the animals.

The photo was supposed to be sweet but what’s wrong with us? Why did we cringe?

For Instagram standards, her caption was epic. In too many words, she pretty much confirmed the rumors going on days before that PNoy will be endorsing Mar and that Mar will accept.

“I hear it is a historic passing of the torch — from one like-minded to another, between kindred spirits and who share one heart for the Filipinos,” goes a part of her Insta-speech.

Anyway, after PNoy’s endorsement of Mar, which happened Friday morning at Club Filipino in Greenhills, Korina was reported to have said, “maganda ang taste ni PNoy.”

We wish she maintained the sweet and supportive tone of her IG post, you know, for consistency. But that’s just us.

Its a big day today…for a lot of people. I hear it is a historic passing of the torch — from one like-minded to another, between kindred spirits and who share one heart for the Filipinos. Amidst differences, ubiquitous intrigue, power play, creeping doubts and fears, it must still and always be country above self. In a country where reluctance seems to be a primordial credential, there is no reluctance in my husband Mar. He is ready for the challenge, willing to serve hand and foot as he has, and able to bring this country to as close to where it deserves to be as he can take it. Honor here is not in declining power. Honor here is in accepting sacrifice. There are many big ideas, big words, big dreams that will be said today. Let me share with you two postcards taped on our bathroom mirror for years now. No matter what the bigness of this world, it will still and always be the simple and unwavering truths that will prevail — Presidency or otherwise.
