The mall chain’s tagline is “We’ve got it all for you” and they’re certainly doing everything to deliver that promise with the opening of the San Pedro Calungsod Chapel at SM Aura in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. Hopefully, those who go to the chapel will not just be praying for more shopping money or sales.
“Located at the mall’s top level, the chapel is named in honor of San Pedro Calungsod, the first Visayan saint who was martyred in Guam for his missionary work in 1672, beatified by Blessed Pope John Paul II in 2000, and canonized by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012,” reports the Manila Bulletin.
According to the mall’s press release, the chapel is “shaped like an abstract cave with a semi-circular opening that evokes images of the cave of the Resurrection.”
