Human resource specialist Raymond Castillo, 32, was about to use one of the ATMs at a commercial center along Daang Hari Road, which is also known as the Las Piñas-Muntinlupa-Laguna-Cavite Link (LPMLC) Road.

The incident happened at around 7pm on Apr 11.

However, as the 24 Oras report indicated, Castillo got suspicious when he realized it was quite difficult to get hsi ATM card inside the machine’s slot.

Fortunately, Castillo didn’t persist in shoving his ATM card into the machine. Much to his shock, the card slot got dislodged when his ATM card came out.

After a few shakes, Castillo was able to remove the skimming device which had been disguised as the ATM card slot.

Castillo related that he noticed two people (a man and a woman) following him after he removed the skimming device. He said he didn’t take a photo of them because he couldn’t just accuse them of being responsible for the insertion of the skimming device.

The name of the bank that owned the ATM machine was not mentioned in the report. Castillo has gotten in touch with the police and the said bank regarding the skimming device.
