Attention holiday shoppers: If you’re planning on bargain shopping, especially in Divisoria, you better double check your change.

According to a report in GMA News, some people are altering the look of a PHP20 bill (US$.40) to make it look like a PHP50 (US$1).

Ageygey Hadjiphanis sent the photos of the altered bills to GMA News.

The photo showed the PHP20 bill altered with a 5 written next to the zero.

Both bills are of similar color. The way to tell the difference between the two is to check the face of the president. The PHP20 bill has the face of Manuel L. Quezon, while Sergio Osmeña’s face is on the PHP50 bill.

Hadjiphanis told GMA News she was too tired to check the face of the bill and only noticed later on that she was given a PHP20.

Don’t make that same mistake!
