Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Siegfred B. Mison recently exposed a case of an “undesirable alien,” who had so many violations that the agency couldn’t deport him fast enough.
“On Sunday, Mar 16, Singaporean Rostam Bin Mohamed—who entered the Philippines in August 2012 using the passport of another Singaporean—was deported for constantly beating and forcing his pregnant Filipina wife to take illegal drugs,” reports Jun Ramirez in Tempo Online.
Corazon Sebastian, who was referred to as Mohamed’s wife, revealed that his maltreatment had landed her in the hospital before. They have a one-year-old daughter. Sebastian is also eight-months pregnant with their second child.
Though Mohamed had threatened to kill her if she complained to the police, Sebastian sought help from her neighbors went to Justice Secretary Leila de Lima to file a complaint.
According to the report, that was when “the BI authorities discovered during investigation that Mohamed was wanted in Singapore for drug trafficking and flew to the Philippines to escape arrest.
