Products made in the Philippines, especially food and clothing, could do well in Singapore according to a BusinessWorld report.
“Filipino products are very big in Singapore and the market is very large. It is an evolving market that has increasing familiarity with us and we see that there is increased demand,” Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Singapore Commercial Counselor Glenn Penaranda said in the report.
He said there is a strong interest in food products from the Philippines. Jollibee opened a store there in March and reportedly has plans to open a second store within the year.
Penaranda said retail products could also find space in the Singaporean market. He said a local clothing brand has already expressed interest in putting up a branch there.
