Gruesome is the only way to describe what happened.
“The CCTV camera in Barangay (village) 338 Zone 3 in Sta. Cruz, Manila recorded the murder of 53-year-old shoemaker Mateo Buyron who was attacked as he was inside his stall at Mendoza corner Malabon Streets at around 2:23am on Monday, Jan 13,” reports Maricar B. Brizuela in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
According to the police, two still-unidentified men armed with a hammer and a knife attacked the victim “without any provocation.”
Police are still trying to find out the motive behind the killing. The victim’s sister speculated that it may have something to do with the altercation her brother had with a couple of customers. The said customers may have hired the men to harm Buyron.
