What do you get when you combine the accessible luxury of Shangri-La hotels with the convenience and modernity of Shangri-La Plazal? Shangri-La at the Fort, that’s what.
Shangri-La just opened it’s sixth five-star paradise right in the heart of the of BGC. It occupies an entire block, and it is massive. After all, it’s not just a hotel, it’s a lifestyle complex.
Shangri-La at The Fort has 576 rooms and suites, 19 function rooms and a grand ballroom that can accomodate up to 1,200 guests. For long-term guests, there are 97 residences, with a choice of one-, two- or three-bedrooms.
The lifestyle complex opened its doors to the public on Mar 1, functions have been held as early as last weekend, and their calendar is already busy up to early 2017.
It’s a food haven with plenty of options to choose from.
From Shangri-La group, there are seven dining choices available inside the hotel. There’s High Street Cafe with its buffet and food stations. The other choices are High Street Lounge, Canton Street, Raging Bull Chophouse & Bar, Raging Bull Burgers, Samba and Limitless Bar.
Around the complex, there are outside retailers who offer the food from around the world. Maisen, a Japanese tonkatsu place is there. So are Brotzeit, Toby’s Estate and Planet Grapes — known for beer, coffee and wine respectively. Pink Hotdogs and the Sugar Factory are there too.
Both are new in Manila. We’re particularly excited about FOO’D by Davide Oldani, that will be offering Michelin-star food at a friendly price.
Kerry Sports Manila is also in Shangri-La at the Fort. It’s an exciting take on having an active lifestyle. It’s an indoor exercise and recreation complex which offers an NBA-grade basketball court. The complex also houses a children’s play area, a multi-level indoor playground, lap pools, a squash court and extensive gym facilities.
Before you plan your visit, know that the entire lifestyle complex is not yet fully operational. The food retailers don’t look like they’d be opening anytime soon. It seems like they’re still in the middle of construction.
