A 28-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly blackmailing a minor to go to a motel with him, according to a report by ABS-CBN News published today.

The 17-year-old victim said she met the suspect, who introduced himself as a cellphone technician, on the internet. She met up with him to have her phone’s LCD screen fixed.

According to the victim, the alleged “sextortionist” asked for her phone’s password, which the victim gave.

The suspect found compromising photos of the victim saved on the phone which he then allegedly copied. He also reportedly saved the victim’s messaging app chat history.

ABS-CBN News reported that the woman begged the suspect to delete the files but she instead received an indecent proposal.

According to the victim, the man allegedly told her to accompany him to a motel.

This led her to seek help from the police.

Authorities arrested the man after the victim agreed to meet him at a fast food restaurant near a motel in Cubao, Quezon City.

The man admitted to the crime and asked for forgiveness but the victim’s family decided to press charges.
