After going through a controversy last year, Camarines Norte governor Edgardo Tallado and his wife, Josefina, were shown being supportive of each other during the governor’s 52nd birthday.

A photo showed the governor’s wife showing her support as her husband donated blood as part of his 52nd birthday celebration at the Agro-Sports Complex in Daet.

In an interview, Mrs. Tallado admitted she and the governor are friends again.

“Hindi ko masasabing great pero siguro mas OK na ganito yung set-up namin na nagsimula ulit kami na magkaibigan (I can’t say we’re great, but I think this setup is OK because we started as friends again),” she told ABS-CBN News.

The governor added: “Sinabi na rin ng aking asawa na kami ay magkaibigan. Kung baga, nalagpasan na namin yung dumating na malaking pagsubok sa amin (My wife has said that we’re friends. We’ve survived a big obstacle).”

Tallado was involved in a controversy in October after photos of him kissing a naked woman surfaced online.

Mrs. Tallado went missing for a couple of days last October, only to surface in Manila to tell media that she left her husband because she feared for her life.

The Liberal Party later kicked out Tallado for committing “grossly immoral conduct.”

Mrs. Tallado, however, defended her husband over the LP’s move.

“Para sa akin, hindi niya kawalan yun. Kawalan yun ng Liberal (It’s not his loss. It’s the loss of the Liberal Party),” she said.

She kept silent about her filing of a criminal complaint against her husband for violating the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.

“No comment ako diyan (I won’t comment on that). That’s too personal,” she said.
