A woman who enjoys the high life has been charged with estafa in Makati while a man is being hunted by police for skipping out on their hotel and motel bills in Pasay City.
The first case involves Marites Bermido, who was charged with estafa for not paying her room and other charges in the Boracay and Edsa branches of a 5-star hotel. ABS-CBN News reported that the suspect’s bills amounted to PHP46,000. She was arrested when she checked in at the hotel’s Makati branch on Monday.
Hotel staff were already alerted to Bermido’s modus operandi.
Pasay City police in the meantime, are looking for Marco Gonzaga Saca. He is wanted for theft, damage to property, and attempted homicide. Saca, who aside from not paying his motel bills, also steals the TV sets, nearly ran over a member of the hotel staff with his Volvo as he tried to run away.
He is known to have stolen television sets in the motel’s Manila and Pasay branches.
