They just want some sleep.
“Senior residents of Makati’s Ecology Village have said that they have (for months) been suffering from lack of sleep and frayed nerves from the heart-attack inducing music blasting from a dance bar just behind their perimeter wall,” reports Victor C. Agustin in his Cocktales column on InterAksyon.com.
The bar in question is Black Market, which is located at the La Fuerza Plaza. The report reveals it’s “owned by couple Jefferson Go Ong and wife Anna Katrina Sobrepena Ong, with A-list model Borgy Manotoc as event and crowd-drawing partner.”
The Ongs and Manotoc already held a few meetings with the Ecology residents. They have also reportedly implemented changes, such as sound-proofing in the bar.
However, as the report pointed out, “the changes apparently were not enough, and the Ecology Village Homeowners Association has now petitioned their barangay to revoke the bar’s permit.”
The report noted, though, that Black Market thankfully is open only Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
