Tropical storm Seniang (international name: Jangmi) has affected Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
While areas in Mindanao are no longer under public storm signal warning, Seniang’s progression has prompted the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) to place some areas in Luzon under Signal No. 1.
“Parts of Luzon were placed under storm signal warning sometime before noon on Tue, Dec 30, as Seniang moved toward Panay Gulf,” reports GMA News Online.
The report noted: “In its 11am update, PAGASA said that as if 10am Seniang was estimated at 75 kilometers southeast of Iloilo City, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.”
Seniang is forecast to move west at 11 kph. It is expected to be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Fri morning, Jan 2.
