This is most unfortunate.

“At least 30 people were killed in landslides and flash floods as tropical storm Seniang (international name Jangmi) slowly crossed the southern and central Philippines, dumping heavy rain for a second day on Tuesday, officials said,” reports Agence France-Presse (AFP) Joel Guinto on ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report noted that according to Stephany Uy-Tan, mayor of the town of Catbalogan in Samar province, some residents in vulnerable areas still ignored evacuation warnings.

Uy-Tan revealed that “12 people were killed after a landslide buried two vans on a mountainside highway in Catbalogan.”

The report said that Seniang will be out of the central region after midnight Wednesday before brushing the southern tip of Palawan island on its way out of the country on Thursday, Jan 1.
