Senators set to inspect allegedly overpriced Makati school building on Nov 15

How many more overpriced buildings will they inspect?

“At 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, the Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee will inspect the Makati Science High School (MSHS) building that is allegedly overpriced by PHP862 million, according to one of the accusers of Vice-President Jejomar Binay,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

Last week, Atty. Renato Bondal had claimed that the Makati Science High School building, which cost PHP1.333 billion, should only have cost PHP470 million.

“We would like to spare our students from needless anxiety and other adverse effects they may suffer if they witness the actual inspection of their school facilities,”

The senators had originally wanted to inspect the school on Nov 14, a Friday, but MSHS principal Evangelina Apolinario wrote a letter to Senate Blue Ribbon subcommittee chairman Koko Pimentel to request a change of date.

Apolinario had written, “We would like to spare our students from needless anxiety and other adverse effects they may suffer if they witness the actual inspection of their school facilities.”
