Senator proposes prohibiting kids from riding motorcycles

It may soon be illegal to let children ride on the back of a motorcycle.

Senator Vicente Sotto III has filed a bill that will make it illegal to allow children 12 years old and younger to ride on the back of a motorcycle, the Senate Public Relations and Information Bureau said Monday, the first day of work for the 16th Congress.

If passed into law, it will likely be as strictly implemented as a national law requiring Department of Trade and Industry-certified crash helmets for motorcyclists.
