Senate tightens security amid rise in riding-in-tandem crimes

You know that there’s a big problem when the Senate itself is taking steps against it.

“The Senate, alarmed over the increasing number of incidents involving motorcycle-riding criminals, has set new security measures in place,” reports Christina Mendez in The Philippine Star.

The report said that a memorandum was sent to all concerned Senate officials and personnel last week by Senate sergeant-at-arms Jose Balajadia Jr.

The Senate people were told that “all employees who use motorcycles to take off their helmets upon reaching the security guard outpost at the main gate of the Senate, which is housed in the Government Service Insurance System building in Pasay City.”
